First Look: Disney’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice

Sorcerors-Stone12

National Treasure’s dynamic duo, Nicholas Cage and director Jon Turteltaub, are teaming up to bring us a live-action adaptation of Disney’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. Fanboyz.net has the first promotional photos featuring Nicolas Cage and Jay Baruchel. Based on the poem by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, and later the animated short in Fantasia, Sorcerer’s Apprentice tells the story of a young wizard in training, who causes problems for his master when a spell on a broomstick goes awry. However it looks like this story deals mostly with a wizard training a young man in preparation of fighting evil in New York. Check out the scans below.

Everyone knows how I feel about Nicolas Cage’s hair and how it relates to his films, but if not take a peek here. I think the story actually sounds like a good way to adapt it, as the mischief with the brooms would make for a good short film. The Sorcerer’s Apprentice hits theaters July 16th, 2010.

What a moronic thing to say about Nicolas Cage's hair length – it's not even his real hair!!! It's a hair piece!!!

  5. funnytunney Says:

sorry peeshepig the hair thing was just satire. it seems though that his character's hair length is in some relation to how well received the movie is. if you want to know what i mean check out the link below the third picture, it's a humorous look at some of his work

Hey. Cage had long hair in con air and that was an awesome movie! Who doesn’t like con air as a guilty pleasure

  8. JeffOlson Says:

Con Air is an exception to the rule. So is Raising Arizona. Majority of Cage's roles that involve long flowing locks are pretty bad i.e: Bangkok Dangerous, Next, and others. He is on his game when his hair is short and clean. No joke. :)

  9. Joshua Says:

I agree with the hair thing for the most part, obviously it's a joke but it doesn't go with the characters he best portrays. I love it when he plays smart, sophisticated characters. (I.E. National Treasure, Lord of War, Gone in 60 Seconds.)

I'm interested to see what they do with this one.

  10. Roz Says:

I agree with you that those are some of his best roles. Too bad Cage picks so many bad roles like Ghost Rider and Bangkok Dangerous.. Those movies sucked!!

Talented actor, but he sure gets some bad advice from his agent and manager.

  11. rita Says:

That hair style really fits Mr. Cage.

  12. Jermaine Says:

Cage really does know how to put on a show. Love this look on the guy.
