The first teaser trailer for Oliver Stone’s Wall Street sequel has hit the net via IMDB. Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps reunites Stone with Michael Douglas who returns as broker turned inmate, Gordon Gekko. After leaving prison, Gekko gets back to his old ways of making money through the stock market with a new young apprentice, played by Shia LaBeouf. This is just a teaser trailer so it is still pretty early to judge how this movie will turn out. I enjoy Michael Douglas’ onscreen presence, and the addition of LaBouf has me hoping this can appeal to a younger generation. I was amused by the trailer, and I look forward to seeing more. Check it out after the break.
At this years Telluride Film Festival a low budget horror film called Paranormal Activity debuted. The film was made for $11,000 and features a cast of unknown actors who filmed the movie in one week. Right away the comparisons to The Blair Witch Project began. Sure, this is another low budget horror movie but the similarities end at that concept. This trailer has begun gaining buzz on the net as horror fans are eagerly awaiting the next Blair Witch Project. Paranormal Activity follows a couple who move into a new house that they believe to be haunted. They become more suspicious and frightened as several disturbing experiences occur. Paramount will release this film on a limited basis beginning September 25th. Check out this must see trailer.
Yesterday during a special Disney 3D panel director Tim Burton presented exclusive footage from his latest project which is an adaptation of Alice in Wonderland. Along for the ride are Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, and Anne Hathaway. The movie looks like your typical weird, dark, and twisted world that Burton has shown us many times before. The 3D trailer for this film was impressive, but this teaser does not have the same appeal in 2D. Check out the trailer for this new film due in theaters next March.

I am a movie trailer junkie. I’ll watch any trailer for any movie. Typically I hold my tongue about whether a movie is any good or not till I see the whole thing, but a good trailer can get me pumped up for a movie, and a bad one can lead me into a predetermined view that a movie won’t be any good. Sometimes a great trailer is filled with various aspects that successfully get the audience psyched for a flick, like the scenes they choose, how much of the story they convey, whether the graphics look good, or if there is one of those “did I just see that?” moments. For me, though, I’m all about the music.

I really enjoy quirky trailers for movies which I know little about. Before I watched this trailer I had no idea what this movie was about, and only that Sam Mendes was directing it. Mendes recently directed Revolutionary Road, and is the visionary director behind films such as American Beauty and Road to Perdition. Away We Go stars John Krasinski, Maya Rudolph, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Catherine O’Hara, Jeff Daniels and Allison Janney in a film about a couple who are expecting a baby but have yet to figure out their life ambitions. Check out the trailer on the next page.

Disney and Pixar have released the first full length trailer for their upcoming animated adventure titled Up. This film, directed by Pete Docter, is about 78-year-old Carl Fredricksen who by tying thousands of balloons to his home, sets out to fulfill his lifelong dream to see the wilds of South America. Right after lifting off, however, he learns he isn’t alone on his journey, since Russell, a wilderness explorer 70 years his junior, has inadvertently become a stowaway on the trip. This trailer looks like Pixar has done it yet again. This animation studio knows how to create interesting characters and in Up, Carl Fredricksen, the young boy, and of course the dog look like they will become so of Pixar’s best creations. Warner Brothers has debuted a new trailer for the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The sixth Harry Potter film is due in theaters on July 17, 2009. This trailer is being shown before Watchmen this weekend so if you are going to the theaters this weekend chances are you can see it on the big screen. This latest trailer improves on the original and has me excited for this film. I think the Harry Potter films are consistent in quality and in their adaptation of J.K Rowling’s beloved books. In this trailer we get to see more from Gambit as well as an appearance by Cyclops! This is definitely a must see trailer. I am anticipating this movie more and more every day, and this final trailer is a great way to hype the film one last time. Hugh Jackman once again reprises his role as the mutant Wolverine in a story of how he came to be. Along for the ride are Liev Schreiber, Ryan Reynolds, Will. I. Am, and Taylor Kitsch. I recommend everyone check out this trailer for what could be a good horror movie. The Last House on the Left is written by Wes Craven (Scream) who wrote and directed the original film from 1972. The premise of this film appears to be pretty routine from the start, but as the trailer moves along you realize this story could have some interesting twists. The big reason I really enjoyed this trailer was because of the music. Watch it and you should agree that the music makes this very disturbing. It is the creepiest version of Sweet Child of Mine I have ever heard. Continue Reading to check out the trailer for this new film.

This trailer has been out for a little while but I saw it again this weekend in front of ‘He’s Just Not That Into You,’ and wanted to share it with those who had not seen it. This looks like it could be a good comedy for the spring. Last April Forgetting Sarah Marshall hit theaters and was very popular, and this looks like it could meet the same success. The comedy stars Paul Rudd as a guy who doesn’t have a best friend. After getting engaged he realizes he needs a best man, yet has nobody to fill the shoes. So what does he do? He goes on a series of “man dates” to find the best man for the job. Read the rest of this entry »
