If you were thinking Christopher Nolan‘s Selina Kyle, a.k.a. Catwoman, was going to have a skintight leather outfit in The Dark Knight Rises like we saw in Batman Returns and the horrific 2004 Catwoman film, you’re sorely mistaken. After all, Nolan prefers function along with form. His villains don’t prance around with their silly names, usually they are a moniker given by others. Harvey Dent isn’t known in this universe as Two-Face, and the only exception was The Joker, but he was simply crazy. We know Anne Hathaway would be playing the conflicted love interest/villain Selina Kyle in the film, and more than likely Catwoman would be a name the newspapers or media would give her. Being a cat burglar, she needs to be tech savvy and get away from the scene quickly. As evidenced by the photo, she’s wearing tactical goggles and driving Batman‘s Bat Pod. Did he lend it to her? Did she steal it? It’s hard to say at this point, but I’m loving the look they’re giving her. The photo simply popped up on thedarkknightrsies.com and labels her as Selina Kyle, and hopefully we’ll get more great photos from the movie as we inch towards the July 20, 2012 release date. We have been eagerly awaiting what Zack Snyder’s Superman: Man of Steel would actually look like and today we have our answer. The first photo of Henry Cavill as Superman has been released which features the actor in costume. Warner Brothers released the first photo which reminds me of the first time we saw Christopher Nolan’s Batman. Nolan is an executive producer on Man of Steel which appears to take The Dark Knight directors’ realistic approach the the comic book movie genre.

Take a close look at the photo below. It is a high-res image so you can get a real crisp look at all the detail. My first reaction was how different this Superman costume is to past visions. Look at the texture of the suit. It reminds me more of the Spider-man costume than anything else. I am curious to see what everyone else thinks of this look.

Another aspect of this photo worth mentioning is the darker, edgier feeling. This is not what we are used to seeing, and I anxiously await more of what director Zack Snyder has in store for fans. What do you think of Superman’s look? Leave your thoughts below.

Arnold Schwarzenegger starred in the original Total Recall and now Colin Farrell will attempt to fill his shoes in the classic sci-fi action film about a company that can turn your dreams into actual memories. Farrell plays Doug Quaid who learns he may be a spy but is not sure what side he is fighting for or what is a dream and what is reality.

Today we have a first look photo of Farrell from Entertainment Weekly who featured The Amazing Spider-man photos we ran earlier today. This is not the best quality photo as it is scanned from the magazine, but as soon as we have a higher quality photo we will replace this one. The remake is directed by Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard) from a script by Kurt Wimmer, Mark Bomback, and James Vanderbilt. The cast also includes Bryan Cranston, Bill Nighy, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, and John Cho.

One movie comic book fans will surely be excited for next summer is director Marc Webb’s reboot of everyone’s favorite wall-crawler, The Amazing Spider-Man. With great acting talent from star Andrew Garfield, the funny and beautiful Emma Stone, and veteran actors and actresses like Denis Leary, Sally Field and Martin Sheen, there’s a lot powering this big reboot. Some people have said it’s too early to reboot the series, as the previous two Spider-Man films were highly praised by audiences but the third was seen as a big let-down (despite a strong box office showing). Entertainment Weekly has released a few photos showing us a good look at Peter Parker’s costume, as well as a couple of other shots featuring Gwen, Uncle and Aunt Parker, Dr. Conners, and even the web shooters! I think Marvel and Sony know they can capitalize on the huge success superheroes have had the past few years, and after the bad taste Spider-Man 3 left everyone, they have to go to square one. A lot of the buzz we’ve been hearing about the new project was that it was going to be shot with the newest and best 3D cameras and would pull a lot from the Ultimate Spider-Man storyline, where Gwen Stacy is a huge impact on Peter Parker before he ends up falling in love with Mary Jane. Comic readers will know that Gwen’s tragic death has a strong impact on Peter, and I hope this franchise is successful enough to give us character depth before she would die, so we understand the implications her demise. Sony sounds like they’re counting on this to be a hit, but sometimes studios gamble on flops in order to have a stronger showing in successive movies.

10 years ago the boys from American Pie first graced the big screen in a pact to lose their virginity on prom night. Now three movies later, and several direct to DVD releases, the entire gang is back for a fourth movie titled American Reunion. We have a first look at the original four friends played by Jason Biggs, Ian Thomas Nicholas, Chris Klein, and Eddie Kay Thomas. The film is set 10 years after the original and follows the guys as they come back home to Michigan for their 10 year high school reunion.

American Reunion hits theaters April 6th 2012.

Next summer Sacha Baron Cohen, the man behind characters like Borat and Bruno, will return in a new feature film titled The Dictator. The movie is based on the novel Zabibah and The King, by Saddam Hussein as well as Charlie Chaplin’s movie The Great Dictator. Today we have the first promotional image for the film which features Sacha Baron Cohen in a ridiculous beard and sunglasses as ‘The Dictator.”

Here is the plot synopsis for the film:

[Sacha] Baron Cohen plays a ruthless dictator who heads to the U.S. for a meeting at the United Nations and finds that his number two has replaced him with an unsuspecting sheepherder lookalike. As the dictator wanders the city, he meets the owner of an organic food store… She turns around his dictatorial thinking, and there’s a little romance in it as well.

Directing the film is Larry Charles, who was behind both Borat and Bruno as director. Along with Cohen, the cast includes Ben Kingsley and Anna Faris. I look forward to seeing some footage for this film and I am curious to see if this movie will be similar to Borat and Bruno, both of which were mostly improvised. The Dictator hits theaters May 11th 2012!

Hot off the news that actor Leonard Nimoy will be joining the production of Transformers: Dark of the Moon are three awesome new photos for you to check out. Featuring Shia LaBeouf running and an army of soldiers with an explosion in the background, these photos are only missing one thing: where are the robots!?

These are just meant to tease fans who will of course want to see more as Transformers: Dark of the Moon will hit theaters on July 1st.

This weekend were are supposed to see the first full length trailer for the film which hits theaters July 22nd. Empire has debuted this new promotional photo for Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class. The prequel to the X-Men franchise has an awesome cast that includes James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, January Jones, Oliver Platt, and Kevin Bacon. The film arrives in theaters on June 3rd and if you haven’t watched the first trailer you should do that right now. This new photo features January Jones as Emma Frost and Kevin Bacon as Shaw, “the leader of decadent mutant bastards, The Hellfire Club.”

I am enjoying the stylish design and look of the film which is quite different than the previous X-Men movies. Earlier this week we brought you two new character posters that are another great example of this style.

A few days ago, we ran the cover of Empire Magazine, featuring star Chris Evans in his full Captain America costume. It looks great, and a lot of comic fans have had their minds slightly eased about the project so far. Today, a few more photos came online. The first picture is of actor Sebastian Stan as James “Bucky” Barnes, Captain America’s sidekick. Stan was last seen in the critically-acclaimed film Black Swan, and it’s unknown to what extent his character will play a role in the Joe Johnston directed Captain America: The First Avenger movie. Take a look at the first look of him in the film below, along with a photo of some of Red Skull‘s HYDRA soldiers below.

I personally don’t know a lot about Bucky or to what extent he will be involved in the story, but it’s cool they’re sticking with using him. The idea of Bucky being a sidekick in the comics makes me think they’ll “gritty” him up, probably less of a sidekick in the film and more of a young kid wanting to prove himself. The HYDRA soldiers look pretty cool, but then again I’ve been wrong about a comic book movie looking good in the past.
