For all of you Twilight fans out there your time has come. The first teaser trailer for the third movie in the popular Twilight franchise has arrived and I am sure you will love it. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse hits theaters this summer and is sure to be another huge hit for Summit Entertainment. The third film once again reunites the love triangle of Bella (Kristen Stewart), Edward (Robert Pattinson), and Jacob (Taylor Lautner) in director David Slade’s adaptation of Stephenie Meyers’ series of books. This teaser trailer has everything a Twilight fan will want in 90 seconds, and although I can’t quite understand the appeal of this franchise, I don realize that I am not its intended audience. So without further ado, continue reading to check out the first teaser trailer for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.
The final trailer for Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood has been released and oh man does this movie look freakin’ awesome. The combination of Scott directing, and Russell Crowe as the title character, is already enough to be a selling point. But this trailer definitely brings the action in one huge epic dose. This movie is the latest version of the classic story about the famed archer and outlaw known as Robin Hood. Russell Crowe plays Robin Hood with Cate Blanchett as Maid Marian. The movie drops on May 14th 2010 and this trailer is a must see. Check it out after the break.
A new full length trailer for the upcoming Toy Story 3 has hit the net via Myspace. In the third film featuring Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the gang, Andy is leaving for college and the future of his toys is in jeopardy when they are donated to a day care center. All our favorite toys are back plus the addition of tons of new toys including the debut of Barbie and Ken in a hilarious scene! I can’t wait for this movie, as the Toy Story series is my favorite from Disney and Pixar. Watch this trailer after the jump and get ready for Toy Story 3 this summer!
The first red band trailer for the SNL inspired movie MacGruber has hit the net. Starring Will Forte, MacGruber was a spoof of the television series MacGyver; always ending up in a situation requiring improvisation to stop a bomb from exploding. He would then become distracted by something and would fail to stop the bomb. I am not very impressed with this trailer as it is not funny, clever, or even very entertaining. SNL hasn’t been that funny in a while and they should probably stick to the small screen. Check out the trailer after the jump.
I love mash-ups and trailer recuts, but this one is for sure the most epic out of them all. Collecting footage from movies of the past two years, over 50 movies are shown in this “Trailer to End All Trailers” courtesy of Break.com. Everything from Percy Jackson, 2012, Mirrors, even The Happening are mashed up together. Check out this unique video below.
Last month we released a few exclusive photos for next summer’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice starring Nicolas Cage. That was one of the first looks at the feature film due in theaters July 2010. Today, Apple released the first trailer for the movie which is directed by Jon Turtletaub (National Treasure.) Surprisingly, the film looks better than I had expected. The film is set in modern day New York City where Cage plays Balthazar Blake, a master sorcerer who needs help fighting against his arch nemesis. He recruits an average guy (Jay Baruchel) as his reluctant apprentice. Check out the embedded trailer after the break.
With all of the trailers being thrown our way over the last week we were bound to find one dud. With an ensemble cast including Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James, Rob Schneider, and David Spade, Grown Ups is about a group of childhood friends who reunite as adults with all their families. This is a comedy about funny situations but based on this teaser trailer there is a lack of anything humorous. Chris Rock has one line the entire trailer and the rest of it left a bad first impression for me. Check out Steve Carell’s Date Night trailer if you want a good laugh. Maybe I am being to harsh, but with a comedic team like that the expectations are set higher. You can watch the trailer after the jump and decide for yourself.
Director Shawn Levy’s new film Date Night stars Steve Carell and Tina Fey as a married couple who have one hell of a night on the town. Date Night is about a married couple who have little romantic spark left but still have their routine date night together. One night, however their usual routine goes astray when they claim to be someone else in order to get a table at a popular restaurant. Mistaken identity turns into chaos as two thugs go on the hunt for them. The film stars Mark Whalberg as a security guru who helps the couple who are on the run from danger. This trailer has some funny moments. Check it out for yourself and leave your comments below.
The first trailer for Matthew Vaughn’s Kick-Ass has debuted via Myspace. The movie is an adaptation of the comic book by author Mark Millar. Starring Nicolas Cage, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Aaron Johnson, Kick-Ass is about a teenager who wantes to be a superhero even though he has no powers or abilities. The first teaser trailer has the right mix of comedy and action. I love the costumes the characters wear and the opening scene of the trailer had me laughing my ass off. Kick-Ass hits theaters April 2010. Check out the first trailer and tell us what you think.
A fourth trailer for Sherlock Holmes has hit the net and it is action packed! Directed by Guy Ritchie, Sherlock Holmes arrives in theaters Christmas Day. This latest trailer is the best one yet! This should be a huge holiday hit that the entire family can enjoy. Robert Downey, Jr makes a great Sherlock Holmes and Jude Law holds his own as his assistant Dr. Watson. Check out this exciting, fast paced, stylish trailer for Sherlock Holmes and leave your comments below.
What if someone told you that you are actually a sleeper terrorist plotting to kill the US President? Apparently the movie was too physically or vertically challenging to Tom Cruise, who dropped out of the project, and Jolie came in to play the title role in Salt. The movie will be releasing a week after Christoper Nolan’s Inception, so it could have a tough opening week. Check out a synopsis and trailer below.
Next March Dreamworks Animation will release their new animated 3D feature named How to Train Your Dragon. From director Chris Sander’s, the director of Lilo and Stitch, comes the story of a viking teenager who lives on an island where fighting dragons is a way of life. After he befriends an injured dragon his world is turned upside down. Dreamworks Animation has brought audiences films like Shrek, Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda, and most recently Monsters V. Aliens. I loved Kung Fu Panda and was very unimpressed with Monsters V. Aliens. Today we have the first official trailer for How to Train Your Dragon which hits theaters March 2010. Check out the trailer and leave your comments below.
In 2007 director Joe Carnahan had a mildly successful hit with Smokin’ Aces. The action packed film about an assassination attempt starred Jeremy Piven, Ben Affleck, Common, and Alicia Keys. I was never a fan of the first film and was surprised to hear there was a sequel being made. I later learned it would be a direct to DVD sequel and was then no longer surprised. In Assassin’s Ball, the same over the top action will return but this time with stars Tom Berenger (The Substitute), Vinnie Jones (Gone in 60 Seconds), and director P.J Pesce. If you were not fond of the first one, I wouldn’t expect this sequel to be any better. Check out the trailer and leave your comments.
The first trailer for Clint Eastwood’s Invictus has arrived before the films December release. We recently showed you the official poster for the movie, and as expected, the trailer came soon after. Director Clint Eastwood has brought audiences some of the best films of the last several years. These include Mystic River, Million Dollar Baby, and Unforgiven. Eastwood is back with what looks like yet another contender come awards season. Invictus tells the inspirational true story of Nelson Mandela, the South African President who brought the Rugby World Cup to his country after the end of apartheid. Check out this incredible trailer after the break.
I am pretty sure this film should be pushed back to 2012, that way it can properly usher in the Apocalypse. The Tooth Fairy tells the tale of a minor league hockey player, known for busting some teeth out of opponents, who is sentenced to become a tooth fairy because he tells a child to give up on his dreams. What a ridiculous plot: I do that daily, and the most I’ve ever had to do was attend 10 hours of group therapy. Anyway, if you’re feeling particularly dangerous, check out the trailer below.
Yahoo Movies has released this new trailer for The Book of Eli starring Denzel Washington and Gary Oldman. In July at Comic-Con we attended a panel featuring the actors as well as the Hughes brothers who directed the film. We saw exclusive footage and a trailer for the action packed movie. Today we have another new trailer for the film which arrives in theaters next January. Check out the trailer and tell us what you think.
At the end of the MTV Video Music Awards yesterday evening, the first trailer for the Michael Jackson documentary This Is It debuted. Last week we showed you the first poster for the movie and today we have the trailer which features behind the scene footage of Jackson preparing for his London concert debut. This film will be released for a limited two-week engagement starting October 28th. Watch the trailer after the break.
Jason Reitman, the director behind Thank You For Smoking and Juno has returned with his next feature length film titled Up in the Air. The movie stars George Clooney as Ryan Bingham, a corporate downsizer who has the job of flying around the country and firing people. His world revolves around travel. He lives out of a suitcase and his residence consists of a different hotel room every night. When Bingham is approaching 10 million frequent flyer miles his job becomes threatened by a young corporate hot shot just as he meets a woman who is another frequent flyer. The trailer, which is more of a teaser, features Clooney speaking about the life of a frequent traveler. The movie hits theaters this December and from this trailer I am already hooked. Check it out for yourself after the break.
The first trailer for the very much anticipated James Cameron film Avatar has finally arrived. This project has been ten years in the making and as we approach the December 18th release date the hype could not be any more huge than it already is. This trailer is breathtaking as audiences get their first look into the magnificent world that director James Cameron has created. This is more than a film for Cameron. This is many years of work put into developing a new world that people have never seen before. Fanboyz was privileged to watch 25 minutes of the film last month at Comic-Con and we can honestly say that Cameron is an extraordinary filmmaker. Watch this must see trailer after the jump.
Here is some more footage from another movie from Summit Entertainment. This time we have a new full length trailer for the upcoming Astro Boy. The animated movie hits theaters October 23rd and features the voices of Nicolas Cage, Kristen Bell, and Freddie Highmore. Check out our Comic-Con coverage from last month where Bell and Highmore introduced new footage from the flick. This movie looks like a fun kids movie with good visuals and great voice talent. Check out the new trailer and tell us what you think.
