Apple has released two new character posters for Iron Man 2 as well as a photo of the theatrical standee for the film. The character posters feature Iron Man and War Machine and the standee features both characters. Yesterday we were treated to the amazing second trailer for Marvel’s Iron Man 2 and I expect to see even more before this movie hits theaters on May 7th. Check out these images after the break.

After the Academy Awards tonight, the second trailer for Iron Man 2 was revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live by guest Robert Downey Jr. The new trailer showcases even more badass action than the first trailer we saw back in December. Director Jon Favreau has another huge blockbuster on his hands as we all eagerly await its arrival on May 7th. The new trailer features even more of what we want to see! More of Tony Stark in the Iron Man suit. A great scene between Mickey Rourke’s Whiplash and Sam Rockwell’s Justin Hammer – and even more! This trailer is freakin’ awesome. Go watch it now!

A new Iron Man photo has surfaced online courtesy of Paramount Pictures, and while it doesn’t feature the title character in his trademark armor, it still is fun to see Tony Stark. This time we see Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr, in some type of race car. He is wearing Stark Industries protective gear, and while this photo may not be the coolest thing we have brought you, it is still one more sign that Iron Man 2 is right around the corner. For those who don’t know, Iron Man 2 hits theaters May 7th 2010 and stars Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Mickey Rourke, and Sam Rockwell. On February  7th 2010 Super Bowl XLIV will feature TV spots for several new high profile films set to be released in the coming year. Advertising Age has a list of all the advertisements that are being purhased for the Super Bowl and who they are being purchased by. This year Paramount has purchased spots for Iron Man 2, Martin Scorsese’s Shutter Island, and M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Airbender. These ads are set to air during the first and second quarters of the game so be sure to pay close attention so you don’t miss anything.

Empire Online has released this new teaser poster for Iron Man 2 which features Iron Man without the mask. Revealing Tony Stark, this teaser poster is the international poster for the film directed by Jon Favreau. Paramount and Marvel released the first teaser poster earlier this week which featured both Iron Man and War Machine. Hopefully the first trailer drops sometime soon, as rumor has it that it will accompany Sherlock Holmes on Christmas Day. Until then, check out this new international poster for Iron Man 2.

This is the definition of badass. Paramount and Marvel has released the first official poster for Iron Man 2 and it is everything we could have hoped for! Earlier today Jon Favreau Tweeted that the poster would debut via Yahoo, and this afternoon fans were given the first look at this awesome poster. Featuring both Iron Man and War Machine back-to-back, this poster is hopefully a sign that the first trailer will arrive soon as well. Christmas day will have a present for everyone to enjoy: The first trailer for Iron Man 2! This is not confirmed news but based upon Jon Favreau’s Twitter message earlier today it is safe to assume that we will get our first glimpse of Iron Man 2 attached to Sherlock Holmes on Christmas day. That dream can become a reality if you are willing to cough up the cash to make it happen. Ebay will be hosting an auction beginning on September 17th for two tickets to the premiere of Iron Man 2; as well as a meet-and-greet with actress Scarlett Johansson. The blonde beauty is playing the villain Blackwidow in the sequel to Iron Man from 2008. Director Jon Favreu has returned to the director’s chair along with stars Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow, and newcomers Mickey Rourke and Don Cheadle. You can expect this auction to fetch big bucks and all money earned will go to Oxfam America, a charity that finds solutions for hunger and poverty around the world. How much would you pay for this opportunity?

There is a rumor circulating the net via Aint it Cool News that Paramount is considering releasing Iron Man 2 in 3D. There is a one minute clip of the film in 3D that is apparently amazing and Paramount is looking into how much it will cost to make Iron Man 2 entirely in 3D. They are even going as far as looking into converting the first Iron Man into 3D. I have my reservations with taking a movie like Iron Man and tinkering with it in this manner. I have always felt that 3D movies are all about the gimmick. Most of them are not very good (Monsters vs Aliens, My Bloody Valentine) and some are amazing (Pixar’s Up is all that comes to mind.) The idea of taking a good movie like Iron Man and presumably Iron Man 2 is a risk that I don’t believe Paramount and director Jon Favreau should jump into.

Before it gets pulled by Paramount, check out this 5 minute clip from next summer’s Iron Man 2. The footage is a bootleg but is pretty decent in picture and sound quality. We see footage of Tony Stark and S.H.I.E.L.D agent Nick Fury talking about Iron Man joining Fury’s “boy band ” (referring to The Avengers?), a congressional hearing about Stark’s suit, the villain Whiplash constructing his power suit and using it against Stark at what appears to be a raceway, and at the end we get a look at what appears to be a battle in the sky above Washington D.C. After the title appears, Justin Hammer (who is a bad guy weapon manufacturer) talking with Rhodes about some weapons, then we see what appears to be War Machine with guns blazing. Let us know what you think of our first look at Iron Man 2.

It looks like the first look photos on this site are beginning to belong to Iron Man 2 and Prince of Persia. That is not a bad thing, but we sure are getting a lot of coverage for these two films due out next summer. Today we have a new photo of Scarlett Johansson from Iron Man 2. Johansson is playing Black Widow in the sequel to the 2008 blockbuster. The entire cast of Iron Man 2 will be in San Diego this week for the 2009 Comic-Con. Entertainment Weekly will feature the cast of Iron Man 2 on its cover this Friday and today we have an early look at the cover which features the first image of Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow. Last night we released the first photos of Johansson but they were very poor quality. Today we have a better look at Black Widow as well as Robert Downey, Jr. and Mickey Rourke who are all featured on the cover of EW which will hit newsstands tomorrow. We have seen photos of Robert Downey, Jr. in the Iron Man suit, on set pictures of Don Cheadle, and now we have the one photo fans have been eagerly awaiting: Mickey Rourke as Whiplash! Rourke, who is on the comeback trail after last years Oscar nominated turn in The Wrestler, plays the villainous Whiplash in Jon Favreau’s Iron Man sequel. This photo just hit the net via Jon Favreau’s Twitter Page and has now been published in USA Today. The first thing most fans will notice is the power pack on Whiplash’s chest which is very similar to that of Iron Man’s. Last week we brought you the first official photo from the set of Iron Man 2. The movie is currently filming in Los Angeles and this past week the first photo surfaced of Robert Downey, Jr in the Iron Man suit. The picture was taken while filming at the landmark Randy’s Donuts. This photo features RDJ sitting inside the giant donut which sits high above the store. This image comes via People.com. A few weeks ago we showed you some behind the scenes photos of Robert Downey, Jr. and company on the set of Iron Man 2. Today we have something even cooler. USA Today has published the first official photo of RDJ as Tony Stark on the set of Iron Man 2. Director Jon Favreau had been promising the new photo via his Twitter for the last few days now. He said it would debut today – and it did! It is only one photo of Tony Stark (Downey, Jr.) in his lab, but the best part of the photo is the numerous Iron Man suits in the background. The sequel to the hit 2008 blockbuster is going to be more about the superhero without the mask. This film picks up where the first left off when Tony Stark tells the world he is Iron Man. The sequel hits theaters May 2010!
