When four friends get wasted at a ski resort and hop in the hot tub outside, they find themselves sent back to 1986. Yep, that same old story right? Starring John Cusack, Hot Tub Time Machine is one of those comedic films that pokes fun at itself while joking about the past. When I first saw the trailer, it seemed pretty funny but looked like it would fall in with most other PG-13 comedy trailers. Now it’s obvious they’re gonna shoot for a hard R, which usually suits comedy. Take a look at Hot Tub Time Machine before it hits theaters March 19th.

With all of the trailers being thrown our way over the last week we were bound to find one dud. With an ensemble cast including Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Kevin James, Rob Schneider, and David Spade, Grown Ups is about a group of childhood friends who reunite as adults with all their families. This is a comedy about funny situations but based on this teaser trailer there is a lack of anything humorous. Chris Rock has one line the entire trailer and the rest of it left a bad first impression for me. Check out Steve Carell’s Date Night trailer if you want a good laugh. Maybe I am being to harsh, but with a comedic team like that the expectations are set higher. You can watch the trailer after the jump and decide for yourself.

Jared Hess, director of the indie hit Napoleon Dynamite, is returning for his third comedy titled Gentlemen Broncos. The movie tells the story of a teenager who meets a famous yet struggling science fiction author at a teen fiction writing conference. Because of his inability to come up with a good story, though, the author steals the kids’ story and rewrites it as his own. The film has many comedic talents including Jermaine Clement, from Flight of the Conchords, and Sam Rockwell who was quite funny in Galaxy Quest. Check out the trailer below.

Steven Soderbergh is a brilliant director. His body of work includes the Oscar winning Traffic (for which he won an Academy Award for Best Director), Erin Brokovich, Ocean’s 11, 12, and 13 as well as this year’s Girlfriend Experience. To say he is a versatile director would be an understatement. The man has brought audiences such an eclectic mix of movies it is hard to pin him to a specific genre. Today we have Soderbergh’s latest project starring Matt Damon. The Informant is a stylized comedy in the vain of the Coen brother’s Burn After Reading. The film stars Damon as Mark Whitacer, a corporate whistle blower who thinks by bringing down large corporations that he is some type of secret agent. The trailer is hilarious and brilliant. This is a must see.

Many of you may not be aware who comedian Ricky Gervais is. I will tell you the man is hilarious. His stints on award shows like the Oscars and Golden Globes have been the highlights of some of those shows. The man is truly a gifted comedian. Last year he had a movie out that nobody really watched called Ghost Town with Greg Kinnear. This fall he is back with The Invention of Lying. The movie is about a world where everyone tells the truth. No lies at all. The word lie has not even been thought of. That is until Gervais figures out how to lie and then uses it to his advantage. Looks like a fun comedy. Check it out. The Invention of Lying hits theaters September 25th!

Last month we debuted the first trailer for Sacha Baron Cohen’s newest comedy Bruno. Unfortunately it was a red band trailer which meant it was definitely NSFW ( Not Suitable for Work.) Well, today we have the first green band trailer courtesy of MTV, which means it is suitable for work, and you can catch it this weekend in front of Terminator Salvation. This should be one of the big comedy hits of the summer. Cohen is infamous for making controversy and when Bruno drops on July 10th – it is sure to be the one thing everyone is talking about. This Memorial Day weekend, Ben Stiller’s sequel, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian will be released. The movie is the follow up to his box office hit from 2006. This movie will most likely be another huge success for Stiller, who is joined in the sequel by Robin Williams, Owen Wilson, and Hank Azaria. Today we have a new full length trailer to bring you. It expands on the first trailer with just some more museum hijinks, and while the adults may not find this all that funny, your kids will eat this up. Ben Stiller does slap-stick comedy better than most, and while I am not all that interested in seeing the movie, hopefully you will enjoy the trailer.

I Love You, Man has created an entirely new genre of film: A chick flick for dudes, a romantic comedy for men; an acceptable alternative to take your date to that doesn’t star Kate Hudson or Reese Witherspoon. Similar to last springs’ hit comedy, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, I Love You, Man is about the relationships that men have with women. However I Love You, Man shows another direction with the relationship that men have with – well, other men. This movie takes the term “Bromance” and runs with it. What is a bromance you may ask? A bromance is a relationship that two guys have that is completely platonic. It is the idea of having the ultimate friendship with your best bud. You have your confidant, your drinking buddy, and most of all a best friend. I Love You, Man takes this subject and runs with it to an extreme.
