As you may recall, Disney‘s The Muppets has been coming out with some funny and ridiculous trailers, mostly poking fun at other movies from this summer. First, there was the one mocking The Hangover: Part II. Now, the next one that’s been released spoofs Ryan Reynold‘s Green Lantern film. It’s on par with the first spoof trailer, and I hope we get a few more spoof trailers rolling out, maybe for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo or Captain America: The First Avenger. There’s an awesome ad campaign underway for Disney‘s The Muppets. First, we got a sucker punch of a trailer, surprising the audience with The Muppets showing up. Now, there’s a great spoof of the first trailer we saw for the comedy The Hangover: Part II. It’s got some new footage, but it’s a real brief spot. With a title screen like this, how could it not be retro fun?

Do you remember the Scott Pilgrim game that was released about the same time as the movie? Do you remember how awesome it was!? Well similar to that style, MARVEL and BixPixel Studios has made a free browser game, THOR: Bring the Thunder, to promote the new movie. Yes, there are those console games but if it’s SEGA and a movie game, it’s sure to suck. This game however, is a retro throwback to Mega Man games much like Scott’s throwback to River City Ransom. It’s a 2D platformer with some really nice animated sprites. Not as good as say Paul Robertson‘s art for Scott but still pretty good. Did I mention that this game is free?

THOR: Bring the Thunder gives you 11 levels in campaign mode with 2 difficulty settings; normal and epic. Then there’s a challenge mode where you’re fighting as many enemies as you can without dying to get the highest score that also has the two difficulty settings. I don’t like COD, it’s boring, repetitive and the annual games have little differences with fewer added features. Sure, World War 2 was a big war but do we need 18 games about the same thing? I’m not the only one who hates it, check this out!

As much as I couldn’t care about this game, this DLC add-on looks pretty sweet. Call of the Dead is part of the Escalation DLC for Call of Duty: Black Ops which stars some fun characters you probably wouldn’t expect fighting hordes of zombies (of course because that hasn’t been run into the ground on COD yet) in Siberia on an abandoned ship. Sarah Michelle Gellar‘s likeness is being used in the game as her role as Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Then we’ve got Robert Englund as Freddy Krueger from Nightmare on Elm Street there as well. Up next is the somehow likeableish racist from The Walking Dead, Micheal Rooker. Finally, Danny Trejo is on the ship as Machete! There’s also a guest appearance by George A. Romero. I’m pretty sure you’re going to be killing the father of the undead. For obvious reasons, Micheal Rooker is the only one I really feel fits in this group. Sure, Buffy generally fights vampires and zombies are like their cousins. As for Machete and Freddy, I don’t get it. Who cares though? It looks fun!

Call of the Dead is part of the Call of Duty: Black Ops Escalation map pack due out on the Xbox 360 on May 3 for 1200 Microsoft points. The release date for the PS3 version is unknown since the fate of the PSN is currently unknown….

Ok, yes, that was cheesy. In this episode, the focus is not on Jax or Sonya but a Johnny Cage. This so far is my favorite episode, it shows the rise and fall of Johnny Cage and what drove him to the Mortal Kombat tournament. In the short time limit of the episode, I felt they made it work great without making it feel rushed and jammed together. I’m excited for new episodes all over again! 1 and 2 were alright but 3 is where the action starts. Enjoy.

Not too long ago, fellow FanBoy, Jordan Tunney, compiled a playlist for some of his favorite Batman villains. With the release of the new Mortal Kombat, Warren Brothers had an idea to get a handful of artists to make songs for their favorite fighter. It’s pretty cool to get different sounds for each fight because not every fighter is the same. I’m not sure if these tracks will be used in the main game, chances are they’ll be played during the credits if it is in the game. You can stream the album here.

I just finished the stream and I’ll say that was…well it’s not the techno remix we all love. Reptile’s theme is by far my favorite. I won’t be buying it but if you want to, you can download it on Amazon tomorrow.

As for the game, the demo is out and I must say, it’s pretty awesome! I dunno if it was the combos that I was able to pull off or the bone cracking feature but the little bit I got out of the demo was alot of fun! If you play on the PS3, you’ll be getting the exclusive Kratos character! How sweet is that? Too bad Microsoft and Rare aren’t using all that Live cash to get Fulgore in the 360 version. Harry Potter is a franchise that is almost everywhere but if still seems to have more respect than KISS. As an April Fools’ joke, IGN came up with a fake TV show based off the franchise. It basically looks like a Law & Order but with magic. Now I don’t particularly like HP but I was informed that the release date is Harry’s birthday. Fun fact? I dunno, you’re the one who likes Harry’s lack of common sense! Either way, this was a pretty funny joke. It was really well done. Check out The Aurors later this year on FX!

Anyone who loves video games and comics is excited for the highly anticipated sequel Batman: Arkham City. Following up a successful video game is tough as it is, but reinventing the setting and upping everything about the game is a feat rarely executed perfectly. With Batman: Arkham City we’re getting a wider gameplay map, new brutal moves to take down multiple enemies, awesome tech upgrades for your suit and cowl, and even some new villains. In the spirit of the new game, we uncovered a disc that appears to be mix CD made by some of Batman’s most dangerous villains. Check out the playlist below.

Mr. Freeze – Cold As Ice by Foreigner

Freeze is one of those villains who’s complicated and tragic accident not only solidified his physical features, but his mental instability. While Mr. Freeze robs banks and is known for dropping Gotham’s temperature sometimes, he’s also a scientist who was attempting to save his dying wife. Mr. Freeze is obsessed with the cold, so naturally, he’s a big fan of Foreigner. Known for some power ballads like I Want To Know What Love Is and Jukebox Hero, their song Cold As Ice is a nice change of pace, a colder change of pace if you will.

The Penguin – Umbrella by Rihanna

Like anyone who’s ever heard the song Umbrella by Rihanna knows it’s about making sure you stay dry when it’s raining outside. Oswald Cobblepot is a deformed man who uses unique and deadly umbrellas to take on the heroes of Gotham City. He gets points for an interesting weapon choice, but he could have probably picked a less obvious song.

The Joker – Crazy by Gnarls Barkley

He’s crazy. It’s that simple.

Mr. Zsasz – The First Cut Is The Deepest by Sheryl Crow

Mr. Zsasz is a serial killer, like most of the criminals in Gotham, but he takes pleasure in killing them. He’s not a criminal mastermind, he’s a murderer. Adding to his craziness, he carves a tally mark in his body for each of his victims. His body is covered with cuts from his knife, each representing one of the men, women and children he’s killed. Adding to his insanity, he’s a fan of Sheryl Crow fan.

Catwoman – Take The Money And Run by Steve Miller Band

The occasional love interest to Batman, Selina Kyle isn’t an evil murdering psychopath like many of the enemies of the Bat running around Gotham City. She’s a thief, a cat burglar who relies on getting in and out with her loot without raising too much fuss. Much like the song she chose, she breaks in, get’s what she wants, and hits the road. She might have to take someone down and isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty, but she knows when to fight and when to flee.

The Riddler – What Is Love? by Haddaway

The Riddler often loves posing questions and riddles that make himself and Batman think. What is a better riddle than the definition of love?

Poison Ivy – Kiss From A Rose by Seal

Poison Ivy is deadly and seductive, not just with her looks, but with the plants she controls. An extreme environmentalist, she has a connection with plant life that can poison and kill with little effort. Much like songs by Seal, even a small exposure to her is enough to kill a person, even Batman.

Onomatopoeia – Boom by P.O.D.

Onomatopoeia is a word that sounds or imitates the source it comes from, like buzz or quack. Onomatopoeia is a supervillain created by Kevin Smith who has faced both Batman and Green Arrow. He’s known to only speak onomatopoeia words, and his sounds amplify the mystery of who he really is. So, of course he’d pick a song with an onomatopoeia for the title.

Some will recall that his CBS show, Two and a Half Men, is one to TV’s most popular shows. Now, in the wake of his comments, the final four episodes of the season won’t be shot, and the outlook for the show next season is grim. Alternate histories are pretty neat, seeing how things might be if the other side won and so on. Iron Sky is doing just that. What if the Nazis made it to the moon? Would things have been different than they are now? Well watch these Iron Sky teasers, then tell me this movie doesn’t look cool! I’m pretty excited for this seemingly low budget film. The people behind it are asking for donations and to see this movie finish, I might have to send them some money. Sure, this isn’t your Micheal Bay dark of the Moon but it looks almost just as interesting. The company behind this movie just finished filming so head on over to IronSky.net and demand it in your area!

Now after those, I’m excited…then I find out it’s a joke movie. Apparently the creators of this movie made another scifi comedy called Star Wreck. That one doesn’t look good at all but Iron Sky looks awesome! Let’s hope it’s not too cheesy like their other movie… At least their graphics and CGI are top notch!
