PUSS IN BOOTS Trailer

DreamworksShrek was a success. It had an easy to follow plot with enough bright colors to keep the kids entertained. It was also littered with sexual innuendos so adults would like it just as much as the kids. I would go and say that the Shrek franchise is the biggest animated franchise Dreamworks has but after 4 main movies and a few straight-to-DVD movies, the story is over. Princess was saved, they meet the parents happened, they had kids, A Christmas Coral/It’s A Wonderful Life was parodied and of course, they were in 3D. Turns out this money cow is still not empty but this kitty has been savoring the milk.

Puss In Boots is a prequel to the original Shrek following everyone’s most dashing and charming feline: Puss. Antonio Banderas reprises his role as Puss. Unlike the 4th Pirates movie, it sounds like Puss In Boots has the money to do a successful spin off. With Banderas back in the boots, The Hangover‘s, Zach Galifianakis will be playing “mastermind” Humpty Dumpty. Finally, Salma Hayek will probably be playing the love interest as a cat named Kitty.

The film has been in development since Shrek 2 and was going to be a direct-to-DVD but was pushed back for a 2006 release but then, more Shrek movies happened. They say this movie won’t overlap the Shrek story and sounds like it’s being handled with care. And like anything these days, it’ll be in headache inducing 3D! The film is set to be released November 4th, 2011.

Puss In Boots – one of the most beloved characters of the Shrek universe – tells the hilarious and courageous (daring, bold, brave) tale of Puss’s (Antonio Banderas) early adventures as he teams with mastermind Humpty Dumpty (Zach Galifianakis) and the street-savvy Kitty (Salma Hayek) to steal the famed Goose that lays the Golden Eggs.
