Watch: New TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON TV Spot

A lot of people tuned in on Saturday to catch the Daytona 500 NASCAR race. An estimated record viewing audience of 30 million people caught at least a portion of the high speed competition, a 17% bump from last year’s race. Paramount Pictures seized on the perfect time to show gear-heads a new look at the upcoming Transformers feature, and it’s pretty good. The first teaser was an interesting choice for director Michael Bay, known more for his explosion to storyline ratio. During Superbowl XLV, we got a taste of some of the action fans of the Autobot/Decepticon were anticipating. The new footage stars and ends with the same shots, but there’s some cool stuff in between. Check out the new look at the upcoming film Transformers: Dark of the Moon below, and let us know what you think.

I think the shot of Bumblebee transforming while driving looked pretty awesome. I like the transformations and the fighting robot stuff, but I’d love to see more action while the cars are driving. Also, if you look closely towards the end you’ll notice two shots of race cars tricked out with guns in the heat of battle. I also enjoyed the short voice-over by John Turturro in the opening of the spot. Look for more action spots to hit TV and theaters before Transformers: Dark of the Moon lands in theaters July 1, 2011.
