Brand New CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER Poster!
Everyone at Fanboyz is eagerly awaiting July 22nd, 2011, when Captain America: The First Avenger hits theaters from director Joe Johnston and starring Chris Evans and Hugo Weaving. One of the biggest staples of Marvel Comics, Captain America has had a rough treatment in feature film, with only one live-action movie (here is the trailer for the awful film). We just got a great first look at star Chris Evans in the costume, showcasing the fact that the uniform is both form and function. Some of the details we’ve learned about the film involve the costume as being something Steve Rodgers resents but ultimately comes to embrace. From the sounds of it, we’re going to be getting a very different look at an icon, something that has been known to create success or failure for comic book movies. Now, courtesy of Marvel.com, fans have the first look at the official movie poster for the upcoming movie. It’s gritty, a tease, and perfect for the style and tone everyone in the production has hinted at. A few days ago, we ran the first look at “Bucky” Barnes, the sidekick to Captain America in the comics, and not looking very sidekick at all in the feature. Check out the first theatrical poster for the upcoming Captain America movie, releasing July 22, 2011, below.
