Martin Sheen Cast as Uncle Ben in Marc Webb’s SPIDER-MAN

The Spider-man reboot is beginning to gain some steam as Martin Sheen has joined the cast as Peter Parker’s Uncle Ben. Directed by Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer) Sony’s Spider-man reboot is gearing up for production as we now have our Peter Parker with Andrew Garfield, as well as Emma Stone as Gwen Stacey, and Rhys Ifans as the villain Lizard . Still waiting to hear who will take on the role of Mary Jane Watson, bu today we can confirm that Martin Sheen has been cast as Uncle Ben. Sheen is best known from roles in movies like Apocalypse Now, The Departed, and Catch Me if You Can; as well as playing President Bartlet on The West Wing.

Marc Webb’s 3D Spider-man reboot will swing into theaters on July 3rd 2012.
