Zack Snyder Will Direct Christopher Nolan’s SUPERMAN Reboot

Just last week we reported that Christopher Nolan was interviewing possible candidates to direct his Superman reboot. Today Deadline is reporting that Nolan has selected 300 and Watchmen director Zack Snyder to take on this high profile project that the Inception director will be producing.

After Snyder is done with post production on his next film Sucker Punch he said he will begin work on the Man of Steel.

Snyder has this to say about the project:

“I’ve been a big fan of the character for a long time, he’s definitely the king of all superheroes, he’s the one,” Snyder told Deadline. “It’s early yet, but I can tell you that what David and Chris have done with the story so far definitely has given me a great insight into a way to make him feel modern. I’ve always felt he was kind of awesome. I’ll finish Sucker Punch and get right at it.”

Snyder beat out Tony Scott, Matt Reeves, Duncan Jones, and Jonathan Liebesman for the job to bring Superman back to the big screen. Warner Brothers is the studio backing the film and the WB has a good standing with Snyder after 300 and Watchmen as well as next spring’s Sucker Punch.

What do you think about Zack Snyder taking the job as director of a new Superman movie? Is he a good choice to make this project a success, or should another director have been chosen? With Chris Nolan producing the film as well as writing the script with David Goyer, I think that Snyder will be able to make this film the way it should be. Just as long as it is not anything like Bryan Singer’s Superman Returns I think the movie will be just fine.

That is my opinion. What’s yours? Share with us below.
