Christopher Nolan Searching Directors for SUPERMAN Reboot
Acclaimed director Christopher Nolan will be producing the next Superman film and as producer he will be involved with the selection of who will direct the movie. Deadline is reporting the shortlist of directors to be some major talent in Hollywood. I would expect nothing less from Nolan, the man who comepletely changed the genre of superhero movies with 2008′s The Dark Knight. So who are these possible candidates to direct a reboot of the Superman franchise? Check out the list down below.
First up on this list of great directors is Duncan Jones. The director of last year’s critically acclaimed film Moon, Jones is an interesting choice to take on a high-profile film such as Superman. Having directed Sam Rockwell in Moon, maybe Jones is the guy to bring out a great performance from a lead actor. The director tweeted over the weekend in response to the news:
The next director is Jonathan Liebesman, a guy who we may be hearing more about after his next film Battle: Los
Angeles hits theaters next spring. Liebesman has previously directed The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, and has just signed on to direct Clash of the Titan 2. With Battle Los Angeles and Titans 2, Liebesman is getting his experience with big projects, so maybe Superman would be in his reach.
The third director on the list is someone you probably have been reading about on this site rather frequently. His name is Matt Reeves and he is the director of Cloverfield and Let Me In, which opens in theaters this Friday. Reeves broke on the scene with Cloverfield, and early reviews say Let Me In holds up to the original Swedish film that it is based upon. Reeves is in Texas for Fantastic Fest where he had this to say about the news:
“I really have no idea if any of that is true. It’s certainly an amazing project, but I would be surprised…”
