Dimension Films Announces PIRANHA 3D Sequel

More graphic violence, blood, and boobs will be returning to the big screen in the near future. After this weekend’s stronger than expected opening of Piranha 3D, the studio behind the film, Dimension Films, is looking to make a sequel. Critically and financially speaking, Piranha 3D was a success, bringing in $10.1 million over the weekend. With a budget of only $24 million, Piranha 3D will soon make back it’s production costs.

With a “fresh” rating of 81% on Rotten Tomatoes, the horror flick has outdone what everyone expected it to do. Therefore a sequel is imminent.

Producer Mark Canton stated, “We are thrilled that audiences are not just loving Piranha 3D, but cheering for it.  And it’s fantastic that so many critics are really getting the movie and recommending it.  We can’t wait to get to work on the sequel.”
