First Trailer for Ben Affleck’s THE TOWN
The first trailer for director Ben Affleck’s The Town has been released. You can watch the trailer this weekend if you are watching Inception. This is Affleck’s second film as a director. His directorial debut being 2007′s Gone Baby Gone, an incredible film, that is very underrated. In The Town, Affleck is also leading a cast which includes John Hamm, Chris Cooper, Jeremy Renner and Blake Lively. Set in Boston (as was Gone Baby Gone), The Town revolves around a group of bank robbers who are looking for their next job, while one of the thieves (Affleck) has feelings for a bank manger who was a former target. Check out this trailer below.
The Town is based on the novel The Prince of Thieves by Chuck Hogan. The movie is presenting itself as an intense dramatic thriller that looks like it will deliver. I think I can speak for most of us when I say, Ben Affleck the director, may be better than Ben Affleck the actor. Watch the trailer and read the full plot synopsis below.
Doug MacRay (Ben Affleck) is an unrepentant criminal, the de facto leader of a group of ruthless bank robbers who pride themselves in stealing what they want and getting out clean. With no real attachments, Doug never has to fear losing anyone close to him. But that all changed on the gang’s latest job, when they briefly took a hostage–bank manager, Claire Keesey (Rebecca Hall). Though they let her go unharmed, Claire is nervously aware that the robbers know her name… and where she lives. But she lets her guard down when she meets an unassuming and rather charming man named Doug…not realizing that he is the same man who only days earlier had terrorized her. The instant attraction between them gradually turns into a passionate romance that threatens to take them both down a dangerous, and potentially deadly, path.
