Bruce Willis Ready to Shoot Die Hard 5 Next Year
While promoting his new film Cop Out, Bruce Willis has been doing the usual press junket question and answer sessions. During these interviews he obviously dishes on his new comedy however he was recently asked when we could expect a fifth Die Hard movie, and Willis seems very eager to return to the role that made him a star. Willis stated to MTV, “I think we’re going to do Die Hard 5 next year.” Willis would like director Len Wiseman, who directed the fourth installment, Live Free or Die Hard, to return for the fifth movie. As a huge Die Hard fan, I am concerned this franchise is going to go the route of Rocky and lose all relevance. I was not a fan of Live Free or Die Hard, as it did not encompass what I believe a Die Hard movie should be. It lacked the John McClane we knew before. The one who smoked, swore like a sailor, and was a total bad ass.
When asked where he thought John McClane may go this time around, Willis stated, “It’s got to go worldwide. That would be my contribution to it.” A Die Hard that takes place worldwide!? This is not the contribution Willis needs to be making to the movie. I wish they would have left the trilogy well enough alone, because I really believe Live Free or Die Hard does not fit into the category of a Die Hard movie. I know I am probably in the minority here, but that is just my thought on it. Hopefully we will hear more so I can look forward to a fifth film for Die Hard.
