Web Crawler: Fan Made Clip for ‘The Walking Dead’ #51
The Walking Dead comic book series is going to be adapted for television by AMC and the filming is set to begin this May. While some people are not yet on the band wagon for the fantastic zombie influenced tale of survival, I believe that they soon will be. I found this fan made youtube video on MTV via the Image Comics Twitter page that recaps a particular scene from issue #51 of the current series. Its got this zombie fan salivating for the eventual TV series. If you have not read issue #51 this video definitely has some spoilers. This video is more for the fans of the comic book. It pulls a scene from the issue that only a reader of the story will understand.
Check out the video after the jump. Warning Spoiler Alert
The Walking Dead is a comic book written by Robert Kirkman and published by Image Comics.
The Scene Set Up:
The lead character Rick and his son Carl have narrowly escaped a fire fight that cost them the lives of Rick’s wife and infant daughter. The father and son have found a temporary refuge in a small neighborhood. While there, Rick hears a telephone ringing in one of the near by houses and answers it. On the other end of the line is a woman who says that she is part of a group that are trying to contact others survivors. Rick is very reluctant to meet a new group of people since the traumatic loss of his wife and child. Who are these people on the other line? Rick isn’t ready for the answers.
For the fans, this is a great glimpse of what the AMC adaptaion could be. Thanks to brianbedell on youtube for making such a great short film. I know that there were no zombies in this short, but you can feel the intensity in the reveal at the end of the clip. We will keep you posted on more news about The Walking Dead television series as it develops.
