Check Out These Images for Marvel’s Secret Avengers

A friend of mine pointed these images out to me this weekend. Who are the Secret Avengers? This comic book fan wants to know. Marvel Comics released six images that show the silhouette of six “Secret” Avengers with very enticing quotes. I had heard whispers about such a project but figured they were just rumor with the already saturated Avengers market. We have the New Avengers, Mighty Avengers, Young Avengers and the Dark Avengers. That’s a lot of teams to bear such an iconic moniker. Writer supreme Ed Brubaker (Captain America, Daredevil) is set to pen the series while Mike Deodato Jr. (Dark Avengers) will draw.  Again, who are these people? Be they friend or foe?

I can only guess at these images. At first glance I see the Anti-Venom(Eddie Brock), Scarlet Witch, Gauntlet, Noh Varr, Luke Cage and maybe Moon Knight. The reason I think that the first image is the Anti-Venom is because of the quote and I think that Spider-Man or Venom are to obvious. The woman could be Emma Frost too which could make one of the men Cyclops. I’m not sure. Right now they are just shadows. Either way I am super excited to see this line up. Secret Avengers launches in May 2010
