Tom Cruise Confirmed for Mission: Impossible IV
Earlier today Paramount Pictures announced that Mission: Impossible IV is a go and Tom Cruise will return to the role of Ethan Hunt. We had previously reported that Paramount was planning on a fourth installment in the popular action franchise, there just had not been confirmation as to Cruise’s involvement. Now we are happy to confirm that Cruise will be attached to the project both as star and executive producer along with J.J Abrams (Star Trek.) Paramount has Mission: Impossible IV lined up for a Memorial Day 2011 release which happens to be the same release date as The Hangover 2! Not sure about that movie Paramount, but there is still time to move release dates around. Continue reading for more on this news.
Paramount has yet to select a director for the film, which has seen a different director for each of the three films in the franchise. The first Mission: Impossible hit theaters back in 1996 and was a huge hit. The movie was inspired by the 1960′s television series by the same name. Two more sequels and over 1.4 billion dollars in revenue, the Mission:Impossible franchise clearly is a money maker. I can’t wait for another Mission: Impossible movie. I loved the first film, didn’t care for the second, and the third was just as good, if not better than the first. Look for Mission: Impossible IV Memorial Day weekend 2011!
