Ivan Reitman Will Return to Direct Ghostbusters 3; Script Nearing Completion

While there is a lot of speculation and rumor swirling around the forthcoming Ghostbusters installment, one thing is for sure, Ivan Reitman will return to direct Ghostbusters 3. In an interview with MTV, Ivan confirmed that the first draft of the script has been completed and turned in, and the work on the second draft has already begun. The Office‘s Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky are penning the treatment, and possibly could complete it within the next few weeks.

Reitman directed both previous installments of Ghostbusters, the first in 1984 and the second in 1989. Seeing him come back, along with the original cast, is enough to excite even the smallest fan of the series. Heck, he even directed the music video of Ghostbusters by Ray Parker, Jr. However, he has not directed a whole lot in the past decade, only directing My Super Ex Girlfriend and Evolution. When more details about the project spring up, we will follow it closely.
