Peter Sarsgaard Joins Green Lantern Cast

Comingsoon is reporting that Peter Sarsgaard will be facing off against Ryan Reynolds in next summer’s Green Lantern. After we reported Blake Lively joined the cast as Carrol Ferris, there was a bit of hesitation in the choice of love interest. However, Peter Sarsgaard has the chops to square off against Reynolds as Dr. Hector Hammond. Hammond is super-intelligent and has psychic powers, so the Green Lantern will have his hands full.

Peter Sarsgaard is one of my favorite underused actors, recently appearing in Orphan, Jarhead, and Garden State. One of my favorite things he has done though, was actually when he hosted Saturday Night Live. Obviously he won’t be doing much comedy in Green Lantern, but it’s still a good watch.
