Fanboyz Presents: The Worst Movies of 2009

We are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to see almost every movie that hits theaters all year long. That is a blessing and sometimes a curse. For every Up in the Air there is a Paul Blart: Mall Cop we must endure. Of course, not every movie can be cinematic gold. The bar has to be set by some films to provide the much deserved attention come awards time. We are privileged to have seen many great films over 2009. Unfortunately we had to sit through some real garbage too. Check out our picks for worst movies of 2009.

1. Paul Blart: Mall Cop

2. Final Destination 4

3. X-Men Origins: Wolverine

4. Halloween 2

5. The Twilight Saga: New Moon

1. Paul Blart: Mall Cop

2. Land Of The Lost

3. The Box

4. H2

5. Surrogates

1. The Box

2. Drag me to Hell

3. The Twilight Saga: New Moon

4. Old Dogs

5. Knowing

Putting together this list of the worst movies of the year made me realize this: Paul Blart: Mall Cop made over $100 million domestically and Twilight: New Moon made almost $300 million. Goes to show that just because a movie sucks, it can still make a ton of cash. That’s Hollywood for you. What movies did you despise this year? Anything we missed? Something we should have added? What a great site, everything at one site about my favorite pastime, out to the movies! Keep up the great work!!

  2. No way! DRAG ME TO HELL is one of the year's best movies! Do you not like Sam Raimi's older stuff, Jordan? EVIL DEAD II is definitely one of my favorite movies of all time.

I actually love the Evil Dead movies but it felt too much like those films. I get that directors have their style but it just felt like he borrowed from them too much.

Just my opinion though. I preferred Paranormal Activity for its inventiveness

    Worst of the year:

    Jennifer's Body
    Sorority Row
    The Goods
    I Love You, Beth Cooper
    Obseve and Report

    Horrible movies!!

    I agree with your lists.

As for Drag Me To Hell, I watched that movie with 9 other people, and several of them walked out, the others stayed but complained the whole time. The movie just was not good. Obviously a bunch of people not liking the movie is hardly grounds for saying it's a bad movie, but it is something to say about it when pretty much no one liked it.
