Comic book fans have known for years that Wednesday is a sacred day. The day that our favorite titles break loose from the gates of heaven and rain down upon us. Every week there are ups and downs, highs and lows. It would be nice to get some direction in a sea of series that can easily over take any fan boy. I cannot say that my taste is better than anyone else, but I can tell you what I like.  I may even tell you what I don’t like.

Check out these books after the jump. The Atom and Hawkman, Green Lantern, Thor, The Walking Dead.

The Losers is a new action film based on a Vertigo/DC comic book by the same name. The movie looks to be filled with tons of action, comedy, and lots of explosions. The Losers is about a team of black-op CIA members who are left for dead after an assassination attempt gone bad. The team sticks together to flush out those responsible for trying to kill them. The movie reminds me of the trailer we recently watched for the remake of The A-Team, which has a similar premise. The Losers stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Zoe Saldana, Jason Patric, Idris Elba and Chris Evans and hits theaters April 9th 2010. Check out the trailer after the break.

Sometimes a great performance can’t be enough to save a mediocre movie. That is the case with Edge of Darkness which features the triumphant return to the screen by Mel Gibson. Director Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) puts together a disjointed mess that relies solely on the intensity of Gibson, who delivers one of his best performances to date. Gibson plays Boston police detective Tom Craven, a real straight shooter who doesn’t drink, and cares most about reconnecting with his daughter who has come home for a weekend visit. It is during this visit that Emma Craven (Bojana Novakovic) is shot to death in her father’s arms in an attack that is believed to be intended for Tom, not Emma. As we see from the trailer Tom discovers there is much more to his daughter’s death than meets the eye (isn’t that always the case?)

The first teaser trailer for Oliver Stone’s Wall Street sequel has hit the net via IMDB. Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps reunites Stone with Michael Douglas who returns as broker turned inmate, Gordon Gekko. After leaving prison, Gekko gets back to his old ways of making money through the stock market with a new young apprentice, played by Shia LaBeouf. This is just a teaser trailer so it is still pretty early to judge how this movie will turn out. I enjoy Michael Douglas’ onscreen presence, and the addition of LaBouf has me hoping this can appeal to a younger generation. I was amused by the trailer, and I look forward to seeing more. Check it out after the break.

An interesting group of images has been discovered on the web today as we get what may be a glimpse of what to expect from the Green Lantern movie. In a post from CosmicBookNews.com, this collection of concept art might be what the GL film will deliver when it comes to visuals for Kilowog, Abin Sur, Tomar Re and even the Guardians of the Universe. Nothing has been confirmed at this point and CBN does want to make it clear that the images may, in fact, be false. Needless to say,  if these are true representations of what we may see the film is already going to be an eye catcher.

A new Iron Man photo has surfaced online courtesy of Paramount Pictures, and while it doesn’t feature the title character in his trademark armor, it still is fun to see Tony Stark. This time we see Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr, in some type of race car. He is wearing Stark Industries protective gear, and while this photo may not be the coolest thing we have brought you, it is still one more sign that Iron Man 2 is right around the corner. For those who don’t know, Iron Man 2 hits theaters May 7th 2010 and stars Robert Downey Jr, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Mickey Rourke, and Sam Rockwell. If you haven’t checked out the first official trailer you can do that here. Stay tuned for everything Iron Man over the next few months!

This summer director M. Night Shyamalan will bring audiences his latest feature film titled The Last Airbender. Typically Shyamalan writes and directs his films which are based on original pieces of work. This time around, The Sixth Sense director is adapting a live-action adaptation of the television series Avatar: The Last Airbender. Yes, it is another movie with the name Avatar in the title…sort of. For obvious reasons, Shyamalan changed the title to The Last Airbender so fans wouldn’t get his movie confused with that other Avatar movie. The Last Airbender hits theaters July 2nd 2010. We Game is Fanboyz.net’s coverage of all things video game. From trailers to reviews and everything in between, we will keep you informed on the latest game releases, as well as taking the occasional look back at the classics that led the way.

Doing some research about video games opened my eyes more than I could have possibly imagined. First, it’s not very shocking that about 64% of households in America play video games. However, did you know that 2 out of 5 gamers are women, or that the average age of gamers is 32? The stereotype of the teenage male being the only one that plays games has passed away. Half of gamers are aged between 18-49, but the other half is equally divided up by those under 18 and those over 50! Maybe instead of buying Grandpa slippers for Christmas, you should get him a Nintendo Wii.

When God gets fed up with humanity’s wickedness, he decides to wipe the slate clean and start over. When Dennis Quaid and Paul Bettany need a paycheck, they lend their acting credibility to an utterly ridiculous movie. Legion tells the story of Michael, the sole renegade angel defying God’s wish to destroy humanity, and protect a woman pregnant with a child destined to protect humanity. Unfortunately, nothing in this movie made any sense.

After years of speculation on whether or not we would ever see a new Conan movie it was announced last year that we would get a chance to see the great warrior of  Cimmeria. News had broke last week that actor Kellen Lutz (Twilight) was a contender to play the lead in the re-boot of Conan. It turns out, however, that Star Gate Atlantis star Jason Momoa gets the nod.

It is remarkable to me when a film exceeds my expectations and I leave the theater both satisfied and inspired. The Book of Eli did just that. I assumed I would be watching another predictable action movie (and based on the trailer, my assumption looked accurate) however about 20 minutes into the film I realized this movie had much more going for it. Directed by Albert and Allen Hughes (known to most as The Hughes Brothers) The Book of Eli is about a man on a journey through a post apocalyptic world where his goal is to head west carrying a mysterious book that is of high importance to him. It is unknown what the book contains, or why it is important, however we do learn that this strange loner (Denzel Washington) is willing to protect the book at all costs from falling into the wrong hands.

When four friends get wasted at a ski resort and hop in the hot tub outside, they find themselves sent back to 1986. Yep, that same old story right? Starring John Cusack, Hot Tub Time Machine is one of those comedic films that pokes fun at itself while joking about the past. When I first saw the trailer, it seemed pretty funny but looked like it would fall in with most other PG-13 comedy trailers. Now it’s obvious they’re gonna shoot for a hard R, which usually suits comedy. Take a look at Hot Tub Time Machine before it hits theaters March 19th.

This December Tron Legacy arrives in theaters and the anticipation couldn’t be any bigger. Today MTV has an exclusive look at a new poster for the film which features the lightcycle going yellow. Last month we showed you this poster for the film which is due in theaters December 17th 2010. Due to the dimensions of the above poster, I am assuming it will be a theatrical banner that you will most likely see hanging in a theater lobby. Tron Legacy is the long awaited sequel to 1982’s Tron which was about a hacker who is abducted into the world of  a computer and forced into gladiator style games as he attempts to escape. Tron Legacy stars Jeff Bridges, Olivia Wilde, and Michael Sheen and is scheduled to be released in both regular IMAX formats in December.
