Rumor: John Malkovich to Play Villain Vulture in Spider-Man 4?

A few weeks ago we were reporting the latest on the Spider-Man 4 casting rumors which included a trio of female choices for the role of Black Cat. Today the new casting rumor floating around the net is that actor John Malkovich has been tapped to play the villain Vulture in the fourth installment of the Spider-Man franchise. Vulture is a nemesis of Spider-Man who is an elderly enemy created by Stan Lee in the Spider-Man comic books. Vulture has sharp wings which he uses to attack Spider-Man as they both fly through the air.

Vulture is an odd choice for a villain for this movie. There are many other choices which would be a stronger choice to oppose Peter Parker in a fourth movie. Besides the fact that Vulture is an old man, his powers are pretty lame and compared to past villains like Doc Oc, Sandman, and Venom, Vulture is pretty lame. However, John Malkovich is a badass character actor and he could more than likely make this character really entertaining.

John Malkovich playing Vulture in Spider-Man 4 is still just a rumor at this point. When we hear more confirmed news we will bring it your way. Until then, Spider-Man 4 hits theaters everywhere May 5, 2011.
