Has The Hobbit Been Pushed Back to 2012?

Director Guillermo del Toro’s adaptation of The Hobbit may not be hitting theaters as soon as expected. It was originally reported that The Hobbit would be divided into two films with the first movie arriving in December 2011. This was with a shooting schedule that was supposed to begin this coming March 2010. Now, reports are surfacing via The Wrap that production has been pushed back which will therefore effect the release date. The Hobbit films were scheduled to be released within a year of each other. The first to open December 2011 and the next film the following winter 2012. Looks like it will now be a 2012 and 2013 respectively. Stay tuned for more news on The Hobbit as it breaks.
