Spider-Man 4 Rumors: Rachel McAdams, Julia Stiles, or Anne Hathaway for Black Cat?
The rumors are running rampant for Spider-Man 4. We have yet to report what everyone else seems to be jumping all over. We decided today is the day to jump on the bandwagon now that there is a laundry list floating around of possible candidates for the role of Black Cat in the fourth Spider-Man. Last week a rumor hit the net that actress Rachel McAdams was being considered for the role. The rumor has been declared just that as McAdams told Entertainment Weekly that she was not doing the film. Continue reading to hear more on who may be playing Black Cat in the next Spider-Man film.
Here is what McAdams told EW this week:
“That’s a total rumor, I have to say,” the actress, who will next be seen in the Dec. 25 action-adventure tentpole Sherlock Holmes, tells EW. “I was hanging out in Toronto the other day and someone came up to me and said, ‘I just heard you’re doing Spider-Man 4
.‘ And I said, ‘Really? No one told me!’ It’s not true.” A rep for Sony Pictures concurs: “It’s an Internet rumor, as so many things are these days.”
Next up on the rumor list is Julia Stiles. UGO reported that the actress met with a casting agent in New York City to discuss joining the cast. It is assumed that the role in questions is for Peter Parker’s love interest and nemesis known as Black Cat. There is still no word what the outcome from this meeting was.
/Film is reporting tonight that Anne Hathaway is the next name to join the list of possible candidates. Nikki Finke’s Deadline Hollywood scooped the story that producers are interested in Hathaway for a “starring role” in Spider-Man 4. This is yet another name on a list of actresses who are being considered for the role. At this point McAdams is the only one to deny the rumor.
With all these names circulating the rumor mill there really is just one question to ask: Who do you think would make the best choice of these three ladies?
