Have Thor’s Warrior’s Three Been Cast?

More big Thor movie news today as it seems that the Warrior’s Three have been cast. The guys at ObssesedWithFilm.com found this story via Variety’s news link, but mysteriously it vanished shortly after they posted. Maybe the news wasn’t supposed to break this early or maybe this is not confirmed yet. Either way it’s just another Thor scoop for fans to get excited by.

Ray Stevenson is cast as Volstagg The Valiant. The lovable over weight member of the three Volstagg who used to be the coward of the group, but has gained a lot of confidence over the years and is now always willing to be the first into battle.

Stuart Townsend will be Fandral The Dashing. Fandral is a romantic. When he is not in battle with his brothers at arms he is trying to get with the ladies.

Tadanobu Asano is Hogun The Grim. Hogun is the mysterious one of the three. His past is different than that of his fellow Asgardians. He comes from a land that was conquered and laid to waste. This makes him the pessimist of the trio, but also makes for good chemistry.

The three are big in the Thor universe, however, I’m not sure how important they will be for the film. The cast is so packed right now with rich characters I would hate to see an ensemble of three characters take away from the main story. It would definitely be something that i would want to see in a sequel, and that would also be good incentive to watch a second film, but never the less, any Thor news right now is good news.
