Comics: ‘Siege’ Is Coming

This is exciting news for Marvel fans. Apparently, the “holy trinity”  of the Marvel U will be getting back together in this new crossover event. I know that most fans have become very tired of the big crossovers that Marvel has been doing in the recent years, and with good reason. It always feels like it’s just an attempt to boost sales on main titles along with the lesser known books, and fans are always hard pressed to spend that extra $2.99 on a ‘Cloak and Dagger’ crossover. But with Captain America, Iron Man and Thor coming back into the picture as a group to put the House of Ideas in order, this particular crossover may set the universe right.

The trailer is a bit much, but it does get the point across enough to make people interested. You can’t be a Marvel fan and not be excited by the reunion of such a fundamental comic book force. Ever since Avengers Disassembled hit shelves, some five years ago, very few thing have felt right with Earths Mightiest Heroes. Sure the New Avengers have been entertaining to read along with the lesser Mighty Avengers , but it just feels like we have been watching a bunch of substitute teachers show us what a superhero team should be. According to Wizard Magazine Siege deals with Norman Osborn and Thor’s brother Loki attempting to take down all of Asgard (Home of the Norse Gods). Some heavy hitters will show up along the way including the Hood who has just been given a power upgrade by Loki herself.  [Editors Note: Loki is currently in a female body right now. Read Thor's ongoing series to know why.] All of the details are still under wraps, but look for Siege: The Cabal in stores this December to start off the whole shindig.
