The Twilight Saga: New Moon Now Top Advanced Ticket-Seller in Fandango History
The New Moon madness is upon us. If you are a teenage girl obsessed with the Twilight Saga then you may already be camping out to see the first midnight show outside your local theater. If that is the case then you are responsible for this headline which states that The Twilight Saga: New Moon has now become the highest advanced ticket-seller in the history of Fandango. Now, you may wonder why we should even care. But after you take a look at what movies it has topped than you may be rather impressed (or not depending on what you find impressive.) New Moon, the sequel to 2007′s Twilight has beat out some characters from a galaxy far, far away, a teenage wizard, and a guy who fights crime dressed as a bat. The following list is the top five advanced ticket-sellers in Fandango’s history:
1. The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009)
2. Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith (2005)
3. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009)
4. The Dark Knight (2008)
5. Twilight (2008)
“For many fans, it’s clearly the year’s most anticipated film event,” says Fandango Chief Operating Officer Rick Butler. “Ever since tickets went on sale on August 31, it’s been among our top five weekly ticket-sellers, as ‘New Moon’ has a strong pull on audiences. We’re seeing a higher-than-usual number of tickets per transaction for this film, suggesting that moviegoers will show up en masse at theaters this weekend with their friends and family.”
We reported earlier this summer how the latest Harry Potter film had surpassed both Twilight and The Dark Knight in ticket sales, but now New Moon has put all those previous records to shame. Most of the midnight shows for New Moon are already sold out for Thursday night, and as expected, the weekend box office should post big numbers by the end of next weekend.

Ridiculous, the last movie sucked. Terrible acting, terrible script, very lackluster plot, This one doesn't seem to be much better.
