Trailer for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

The first trailer for Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time has made its way online. Starring Jake Gyllenhaal of Jarhead and Brokeback Mountain, he plays a rogue prince set out to keep the forces of darkness from obtaining an ancient dagger capable of releasing the Sands of Time, allowing the possessor the ability to control time. Prince of Persia joins the Oscar caliber genre of video game adaptations, including the gems Double Dragon, Super Mario Brothers, and House of the Dead. Joking aside, this looks much better then those films. The action looks great, and the storyline to the franchise is rich with intrigue and excitement. Playing the mysterious princess is Gemma Arterton, who was last seen as Strawberry Fields in Quantum of Solace. Considering the success of Disney’s venture into action films with the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, Prince of Persia may be poised to overtake the box office next May.
