New Images from James Cameron’s Avatar

James Cameron’s Avatar will arrive in theaters December 18th in regular formats, digital 3D, and IMAX 3D. Today we have some great looking high resolution images for you to check out. The images consist of the Na’vi which are the creatures featured in the photo above. If you haven’t checked out the first trailer for the movie click here. I will admit this film looks beautiful, however I hope it can live up to all the hype. Check out the photos after the jump.

In the future, Jake, a paraplegic war veteran, is brought to another planet, Pandora, which is inhabited by the Na’vi, a humanoid race with their own language and culture. Those from Earth find themselves at odds with each other and the local culture.
