Spider-Man 4 to Hit IMAX Theaters May 5, 2011!

This probably doesn’t come as a surprise to most people but it still is fun news to report. The fourth installment the Spider-Man franchise will hit IMAX theaters, as well as normal screens, on May 5th, 2011. This is not a surprise since the last two films all were featured in IMAX, but hopefully this time around the film will be filmed in IMAX format (like The Dark Knight was.) The news from IMAX is that the film will be digitally remastered to feature picture and sound quality on the IMAX level. This sounds like it will follow the pattern of its two predecessors.

“The last two ‘Spider-Man’ releases have been available in IMAX theaters, and we’re very much looking forward to our return to a wider IMAX theatre network with this exciting new chapter in the continuing adventures of Spider-Man,” said Rory Bruer, President, Worldwide Distribution for Sony Pictures Releasing. “The addition of so many new IMAX locations will give even more fans of Spider-Man an opportunity to experience the action and adventure in a unique way.”

Spider-Man 4 will reunite the entire cast which includes Peter Parker himself, Toby McGuire, as well as Kirsten Dunst and director Sam Raimi. Who else is excited to see this franchise continue? Leave your comments below.
