Jack Sparrow Returns In “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides”
Just announced at Disney’s D23 Expo, Johnny Depp came stumbling onto the stage in full Captain Jack Sparrow costume, and announced the fourth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise was in fact due to hit theaters summer 2011. While there has been a lot of talk about who would be returning and when production was going to begin, it looks like fans can rest assured that their main man will be back.
Along with the tentative release date, Depp also added that the next film will be given the subtitle On Stranger Tides as well. Considering many fans were let down by the convoluted and loosely resolved storyline of the first three films, we may get a new twist in the tales of Captain Jack and the perils of the sea. A lot of speculation has floated around about other returning cast members, most notably Orlando Bloom and Keira Knightley, but considering the announcement we may be hearing from their people if they are involved with the project. Below is the image that was used to introduce the project at the Expo. Stay tuned for more news as it continues to make its way around Hollywood.
