Arrested Development Movie Still Moving Forward?

I am both a collector of TV shows, and a cheapskate. When I saw all three seasons of Arrested Development on sale for $13 a piece, I could not pass that up. I have gone through and watched the show again, and found myself laughing at all the jokes and gags, both ones I remembered and ones I forgot about. In my opinion, it is the funniest TV show I have ever watched. But does that mean it would make for a good comedic film?

Not necessary. However, the show’s writer Mitch Hurwitz and executive producer Ron Howard have both given signs the movie is moving forward. The most notable information has come from the show’s star, Jason Bateman. In an interview with Ain’t It Cool News,  Bateman said that the project is moving forward as the script is almost complete. He said Mitch is working on the script and from previous statements from both Mitch and Bateman, the entire cast will return as well. We reported previously that Michael Cera, Bateman’s son on the show, was no longer holding out and would be reprising his role.   I love both the comedic timing and the double entendre of jokes, so hopefully the movie will embody the greatness and classic humor of the show.

If you have never seen the show, I highly recommend it. Fans of TV shows like The Office and 30 Rock will enjoy the somewhat dry humor and cultural references Arrested Development makes. Are any other fans excited for this project?
