Michael Sheen Will Play Villain in Tron Legacy

We learned last week that the sequel to Tron from the 1980′s would now be titled Tron Legacy. We saw some footage, some great concept art, and we experienced a viral marketing campaign for the film. Today we have news to report on the movie and that is actor Michael Sheen will be joining the cast as the film’s villain. Walt Disney Pictures confirmed the news today via Twitter that the Frost/ Nixon actor will be joining the Tron cast as a villain that “is in fact not a person at all.”

Tron Legacy is a 3D adventure in which Sam Flynn (Garrett Hedlund), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), looks into his father’s disappearance and finds himself pulled into the same world of fierce programs and gladiatorial games where his father has been living for 25 years. Along with Kevin’s loyal confidant (Olivia Wilde), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey across a visually-stunning cyber universe that has become far more advanced and exceedingly dangerous.

Tron Legacy hits theaters in 2011. To read more about this highly anticipated movie you can click here.
