Comic-Con: Josh Brolin and Megan Fox Talk Jonah Hex

One of the highlights for me yesterday was the first look at the comic-book adaptation Jonah Hex. Stars Josh Brolin and Megan Fox attended the panel and debuted the first trailer for the film which looks amazing! I usually don’t get overly excited but after yesterdays Warner Brothers panel I couldn’t help but be a little giddy. Jonah Hex is a western set in the south. Played by Josh Brolin ( No Country for Old Men) the movie is about a southern bounty hunter who goes on the hunt for a voodoo practitioner that is attempting to create an army of the undead, in an effort to liberate the south. The disfigured gunslinger is based upon a DC comic about a western anti-hero. Visually the movie looks incredible. I love the concept of the film, and although this is a lesser known character, WB is marketing this as a tent pole film.

The footage we saw was really awesome. The action was great and of course Megan Fox looks pretty damn good as well. Some of the highlights from the trailer (which is exclusive to SDCC) were the following:

Jonah Hex rides a horse which has machine guns mounted to its side. Hex is riding away from a train explosion and firing away with full force. Never have I seen something soo weird, yet so cool.

Megan Fox is shown several times in bed with Hex. She is hot. That is all I have to say.

Jonah Hex is such a badass character. The trailer begins with a U.S government agent explaining they need his help because he is so experienced with killing.

If you haven’t seen the major scar on the face of Jonah Hex check that out here. There are many moments in the trailer with funny dialouge about how Hex came to have such a massive scar. The best one is at the end when a guy asks how he got it. Hex throws an axe into the guys head. He then replies: “I cut myself shaving, what happened to yours?”

This panel was one of the more entertaining segments because of Josh Brolin. Similar to Denzel Washington in The Book of Eli panel, Brolin kept the segment moving. It never became dull or boring. Brolin is hilarious and what I liked about him is that he never took himself or this panel too seriously. He was up there for the fans and that was very evident.

We posted the first poster for Jonah Hex yesterday. You can check that out here. As soon as we have an official trailer for the movie we will have it for you to enjoy! Thanks for following our SDCC coverage. There is much more to come!
