Comic-Con: Free Sneak Peek of Avatar in Theaters Aug 21st
A huge announcement was made during the Avatar panel today: the film will have a free 15 minute long 3D sneak peek in theaters and Imax screens all around the country on August 21st. Not much is known at this point, but from what James Cameron was saying, audiences will get to see what he has been working on for the past 4 years about 4 months before the film is released.
Nothing was said about what footage would be shown, or how exactly it is going to be the procedure for audiences to see the footage for free, but what we do know is that James Cameron is all about buzz. As a kid I remember the Terminator 2 teasers and I remember how massively Titanic was marketed despite the slow start it had in theaters. Holding off on showing the world what he has been up to has seemingly paid off, but audiences will grow tired of his evasive teases unless he gives them something solid to show it’s going to pay off. This is a brilliant idea, and we hope to get more info soon. Does a 15 minute free preview in 3D peak your interest yet?
