Who Will be Green Lantern: Timberlake, Reynolds, or Cooper?

Yesterday we reported a rumor (which turned out to be true) that Justin Timberlake had been given a screen test for the role of Hal Jordan in the upcoming Green Lantern movie. Fanboys went crazy yesterday with the news that Timberlake could be a potential candidate for the role. While the former Nsync member has proved his acting talent with films like Alpha Dog and Black Snake Moan, he is still a long ways from headlining a big budget studio project. According to The Hollywood Reporter, actors Bradley Cooper (The Hangover), Ryan Reynolds (The Proposal) and Timberlake are the three potential front-runners for the role of Hal Jordan aka Green Lantern.

Director Martin Campbell has spent the last five months searching for his star. Star Trek’s Chris Pine was at one time considered a candidate and then Bradley Cooper was the next person of interest added to this list. Now we are hearing about both Reynolds and Timberlake being possible choices which just adds to the number of actors who have had their name put in the hat.

I wish they would just make a decision already. This has been dragging out for some time now and the one thing this project is missing is the title character (I enjoy Hollywood because this is the only business that you can secure everything else for a project like a director, a budget, a shooting location, and a release date, yet nobody to play your most important character.) Anyways, I won’t rant about that now. These choices are becoming very interesting. I am curious how Reynolds can work this into his schedule while shooting Deadpool. I am not on board for Timberlake taking on a project of this caliber, so I think the best choice is Bradley Cooper. He would be great for this role and it is his time to get a big breakout role. That is my opinion what is yours?
