Confirmed: Reynolds is The Green Lantern
Numerous sources are reporting Ryan Reynolds has landed the role of Hal Jordan in the upcoming Green Lantern film. With all the names floating around Warner Brothers lately, Reynolds is the final pick by Warner Bros. but the details, including money and scheduling, still need to be ironed out. Green Lantern, directed by Casino Royale‘s Martin Campbell, is set to land in theaters June 2011.
Ryan Reynolds has been quite busy with projects lately. Adventureland, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and The Proposal have all released this year. While films such as The Proposal and Definitely, Maybe have shown his lighter side, X-Men and Smokin’ Aces have shown he can handle action. While X-Men had it’s own flaws, Reynolds action scenes were quite good. No doubt he will bring his dry wit to his portrayal of Hal Jordan. Interestingly enough, Green Lantern‘s director, Martin Campbell, has handled the Bond franchise quite well. Considering he got Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig off to great starts by directing Goldeneye and Casino Royale, perhaps that same magic will get Ryan Reynolds off to the same start on this franchise.
Alright fans, what do you think of Reynolds wearing the Green Ring? Does he have the action and acting skills to pull off the massive project that Green Lantern will be?

I think you forgot one important aspect in all of this. What about his Deadpool movie? Will he be playing both a Marvel and DC comic book character? I think that the Deadpool movie could be in trouble because I highly doubt any studio will want to have their star attached to two high profile superhero films.
Its smoking aces jordan. But I’m stoked. Ryan is one of my favorite actors now. Ill see any movie with him in it.
Ps- 3 days til HP!!!
good eye there moves. and i agree reynolds has really impressed me lately. in terms of how this project will have an impact on deadpool, reynolds has said he wants a deadpool film that does the character justice, so unless WB tells him he can't do a marvel and a dc, i think he'd go for both. who wouldn't ha
