Rumor: Sexyback Coming To Green Lantern Corps?

Big casting rumor today, AICN is reporting a souce inside Warner Brothers leaked Justin Timberlake’s name as a new contender for the title role in the upcoming Green Lantern film. Typically studios screen test actors to see how they flow with the script and role, so if this news is true they must really be considering JT. However, these unconfirmed rumors spill out everytime a big role is up, so Justin fans should wait for something more concrete.

Timberlake is most famous for his musical accomplishments both with N*SYNC and his solo career. He has, although, had several film roles, including Alpha Dog, Shrek the Third, and Black Snake Moan. Justin, as well as the rest of the cast, did a great job in Alpha Dog, but some of his other film roles have had less fortune. He had a supporting role in the box office bomb The Love Guru. Another on screen fizzle was Southland Tales, but much of the problems with that film were story related.

Will Justin be WB’s Hal Jordan? Still too soon to tell, but at least for Green Lantern fans, it looks as though the studio is taking the project seriously. Names like Bradley Cooper and Ryan Gosling have been churning in the rumor mill for a few weeks; perhaps Warner Brothers is close to naming their Green Lantern? Do you think JT is a good pick for Hal?
