Cloverfield Director Set to ‘Let the Right One In’

Matt Reeves, the director of last years Cloverfield, is gearing up for his next project. Let the Right One In is based upon the John Ajvide Lindqvist novel and is also a foreign released film which is now being remade for the U.S. Reeves recently spoke with the L.A Times and had the following to say: “I was just hooked,” Reeves told the newspaper. “I was so taken with the story and I had a very personal reaction. It reminded me a lot of my childhood, with the metaphor that the hard times of your pre-adolescent, early adolescent moment, that painful experience is a horror.” This remake is going to be retitled as Let Me In and interestingly enough is considering Colorado as a location to shoot the film.

The story takes place in a snow covered, mountain environment so if Colorado is indeed a location they shoot at, we will try to be there since we are located in Colorado. This vampire love story is looking for it’s two leads to star in the film. Let the Right One In is the story of Oscar, an overlooked and bullied boy who finds love and revenge through Eli, a beautiful but peculiar girl who turns out to be a vampire.

Everything I have read about the foreign version of Let the Right One In is very positive. There have been mixed responses as to a U.S remake, but we will have to wait and see how this turns out.
