First Footage of Jerry Bruckheimer’s Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
Producer Jerry Bruckheimer recently sat down with ABC and debuted this footage for his new film Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Based on the video game, which follows an adventurous prince who teams up with a rival princess to stop an angry ruler from unleashing a sandstorm that could destroy the world. The movie stars Jake Gyllenhaal and is being directed by Mike Newel (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.) The film hits theaters on May 28, 2010 and here is your chance to see the very first footage for this new epic action tale.
Disney is releasing this as their big tent pole film for next May. I think the footage looks entertaining, but the fact it is based upon a video game makes me nervous. This could be a big hit or an even bigger bomb. The movie had originally been intended for a summer 2009 release but was pushed back until next summer. I look forward to seeing the first trailer for this movie as the video footage has me curious. Jerry Bruckheimer has had some successful hits with the Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy so do you think he can do this with Prince of Persia as well?

i love all the games (just started playing the new one today) i think the action is looking great but videogame adaptations struggle with story. i have high hopes for bioshock if it ever gets made, so this could be a good start to fixing the genre
