Indy Comic The Forgetten to be Adapted into Movie

Looks like another comic book movie is on the horizon. According to The Hollywood Reporter producers John Wells and Don Murphy are looking to adapt the indie comic book The Forgotten into a big screen movie. The comic centers on a man who, no matter what he does or whom he meets, is forgotten five minutes later. While it gives him great power and leeway as far as investigations and problem-solving, it leaves him incredibly alone. When the son of a long-lost friend is charged wrongly with murder, he uses his powers to get to the bottom of a conspiracy. Sounds like an interesting story line. Definitley a different approach to the genre than your typical costumed super hero movie.

The story has a similar feel to Phillip K. Dick’s Memento which was about a man who had short term memory, and had to fight this disability to solve a murder. Memento was an incredible movie, so if this comic book transcends to the screen like that movie, than it could be a fascinating story. Forgotten was written by Evan Young and Jareth Grealish who debuted the story at San Diego Comic-Con in 2004. The comic book consists of a four-issue series as well as a collectors edition.

For those of you who have read this comic book series or are familiar with it, share your thoughts below. Can this comic book make a good movie? Is the story as cool as it sounds? I have not read the series so please share with us your opinion in the comment section.
