Cover of the Week

The cover for Thor #601 was many things to me this week. I love that Marko Djurdjevic just had fun with it. He took, what most would say, one of the most manly characters ever and showed us a light side. Thor is the Norse god of thunder. A warrior by nature. To see him listening to an mp3 device, and enjoying it, is hilarious. Not to mention that the back ground is pink. For those who do not know Thor, think Leonidas from the movie 300 in his place and you should get the same feeling.

Now this image I found stunning. The cover for Angel #20 showed me a different aspect of cover art. The shadows are great and you still get a good shape of the person. Her eyes brighten this piece and the light from above adds to the darkness some how. Nick Runge is an artist that I have not been very familiar with, but I will keep an eye on his future work.
