Is Sin City 2 Up For Sale?

Last week IESB reported that The Weinstein Company had lost their rights to Sin City 2 and that the script was being shopped around for a possible buyer. Of course, the Weinsteins quickly denied these rumors, and for a while it was unclear who would make Sin City 2. Now The Hollywood Reporter is stating that the Weinsteins did indeed lose the rights to this film. It is becoming a war between the Weinsteins and everyone else. It appears most believe the studio is just trying to save face in this entire debacle. For some time now we have heard there is a script for SC2 and that “production will begin soon.” It has been four years since the first Sin City hit theaters and it is time for round two. As of Wednesday the Weinstein’s reps state that they still are in control of the project, but as the weeks go on this looks more and more un-likely. Let’s hope a studio who actually intends on making this movie buys the script and we can finally see this much anticipated sequel.
