Comic Book “American Jesus” Being Made into Movie

It was reported yesterday that comic book author Mark Millar would not be bringing his Superman saga to the big screen. This may be the reason why: THR is reporting that Millar, along with director Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass) will be adapting Millar’s comic book American Jesus into a movie. American Jesus centers on the return of Christ in the modern world, leading to a final confrontation with the Antichrist in a bid to save humanity. Vaughn recently directed Millar’s comic book titled Kick-Ass, which stars Nicolas Cage and Christopher Mintz-Plasse about a 16 year old who decides to become a superhero.
