Friday the 13th Will Have a Sequel

This does not come as any big surprise. New Line and Platinum Dunes will be moving forward with a sequel to this month’s Friday the 13th. The horror film was a huge hit. It opened with $40 million and has grossed $57 million over the last three weeks. So why not make a sequel? If the formula works, you may as well run it until it loses it appeal. Just look at the Saw movies. We can expect Saw VI this Halloween because those films still make tons of cash in their opening weekend. Not that anyone who watches these films require a plot, but The Hollywood Reporter is noting that this is not necessarily a sequel, but instead, a follow-up to where the last one left off. So I guess that means more stupid teenagers getting high, having sex, and getting killed. Sounds pretty routine to me. Did anyone enjoy this latest installment of the horror franchise?
