The third film in the successful Twilight series has announced a release date. The film, which is titled ‘Eclipse,’ will hit theaters June 30, 2010. Summit Entertainment is pushing these releases with little time in between each other. The second film, ‘New Moon,’ is scheduled to hit theaters this year with a November 20th release date. With the release of the next two films, there will have been a ‘Twilight’ film in 2008, 2009, and 2010. The first film hit theaters this past November and has grossed over $170 million domestically. With ‘Eclipse,’ being a summer release, the success at the box office could be even bigger. Summit knows they have a popular franchise on their hands and they want to act on that while it is fresh in people’s minds. Look for ‘New Moon’ this November and ‘Eclipse’ in theaters next summer.
