Fans of the hero seemed split on the casting, as many have difficulty seeing him as an action hero after seeing him on The Office and more seriously in Away We Go. Now, according to Mike Fleming, almost all the actors going out for the role have been scrapped and are looking elsewhere. It appears that Marvel and director Joe Johnston have focused on three actors to play Steve Rogers. Who are the finalists? Check out the contenders after the jump.

Oscar Recap: Best & Worst from Academy Awards

The Academy Awards, or better known as the Oscars, are one of my favorite events to watch all year long. I love to see all of Hollywood gather to honor their own for a year of outstanding work. While many may feel this night is just an opportunity for the rich and famous to become even more self indulgent, I like to think of it as an honorary night for those who brought the best work to their craft over the last year. With big films like Avatar and Inglourious Basterds competing against smaller independent films like The Hurt Locker and Precious, there is always something for everyone at the Oscars. So what were the best moments of the telecast? How about the worst? We have our picks after the jump!

Wesley Snipes Talks about more ‘Blade’ Movies

blade

Did anyone else think that the Blade franchise ended a little weak? Me too. Blade was such a great character on screen and to leave on such a low note was a bit sad. There has always been the feeling that a new film should be done and that it could place a better book end on the series. Rumors circulate from time to time on the web about a new project and it seems that Wesley Snipes may have left the franchise wanting. Snipes sat down with MTV and they briefly discussed the possibility of more Blade films.

Movie Review: Alice in Wonderland

I am not a fan of either Tim Burton or Johnny Depp, but I went into Alice in Wonderland trying to be as objective as possible. However, reviewing film necessarily eliminates the idea of objectivity, but I will only look at this one specific movie. Alice in Wonderland is a pseudo-sequel to the well known Disney movie. It takes a few cues from the story written by Lewis Carroll but everything in it has Burton’s look and style. Not long into the movie does Alice fall down the proverbial rabbit hole, and the movie starts to get weird.

‘Wolverine’ Sequel to Film in 2011

wolverine

Some X-Men fans can rejoice in the knowledge that a new ‘Wolverine’ movie is in the works. Others may want to sit down for this news. Christopher McQuarrie (X-Men and Valkyrie) has finished the script for Marvel’s most recognized mutant and is scheduled to start filming in 2011 according to The Hollywood Reporter and MTV. I am more that happy to see more X-Men related material getting prepared to shoot, but this seems a little fast. It hasn’t even been a years since the first film came out and X-Men Origins: Wolverine was not well received by the masses. I am not sure that fans are ready for a sequel to a rushed, bad visual effects ridden, poorly made film.

Web Crawler: OK Go’s “This Too Shall Pass” Music Video

A few years ago, the band OK Go made a name for themselves by producing one of the most visually fun music videos that stormed Youtube and was at one point the highest watched video of all time. That song, Here it Goes Again, was an internet sensation and their antics on the treadmill spawned a huge interest in the song and dance associated with it. Now, following up their musical and video success, they have just released a video for their new single This Too Shall Pass. The video contains a giant Rube Goldberg machine, which is a series of small mechanisms interacting with each other. It was all done in one shot and took over a month to build. Check out this amazing video below.

Bill Murray Talks Ghostbusters 3 on Letterman

David Letterman had guest Bill Murray on his program Monday night where the host asked about the upcoming Ghostbusters sequel. There has been tons of speculation as to Murray’s involvement in the third film, and based on what he says in the clip below, we still can’t be sure if he plans to be a part of it. He is less than enthused by the idea of a third movie, and as he states, the second film was obviously not on par with the first one. We have been reporting on the possibility of a Ghostbusters 3 for about a year now, and there has only been speculation as to the details surrounding this project. Check out Bill Murray on Letterman in the clip after the break.

Movie Review: The Crazies

Any movie that markets itself with Gary Jule’s Mad World song in its trailer already gets my interest. The movie is named after people who become infected with a toxin that causes a complete break down of rationality and restraint, and makes people insane with murderous rage. Starring Timothy Olyphant and Radha Mitchell, the small town of Ogden Marsh collapses from the weight of “the crazies.” But does the movie succeed in being a scary ride or does it simply fizzle in the starting gate?

Movie Review: Cop Out

Cop Out was directed by Kevin Smith, which stars Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan as its main characters. It is a comedy about two New York City police partners who are desperately trying to reclaim a rare, mint condition, baseball card while having to deal with their own police suspension and a drug lord trying to assert himself as the undisputed king of cocaine for the entire east coast of the United States.
